Race Amity Day

On June 7, 2025, Race Amity Day was held in the town of Pittsboro at the Chatham County Agricultural & Conference Center. A group of individuals from diverse races and backgrounds made up the Chatham County Unity Coalition along with the Partners in Racial Justice, worked cooperatively to plan an event that celebrates friendship and relationship building. A local landscape company beautifully decorated the space with dozens of plants and trees. Artist of all ages displayed their work. Bands from different genres played through the day. Local service organizations set up informational tables. A mystery theater group performed an interactive play. Food trucks and ice cream were available to enjoy. Dignitaries were honored, and the “One Human Family” choir performed.

Listening and learning with open hearts. This is how we connect, this is how we become friends, this is how we build a united community.
